In spring of 2021, I served as Alpha Kappa Psi at Illinois State University's first Diversity & Inclusion Chair as a Freshman.
In this position, I led a committee of over 20 members to grow and foster an diverse and inclusive environment within and outside of our organization. These efforts culminated in our first Diversity & Inclusion Conference (which we lovingly called D&IC).
D&IC was 3 hour online event, including speakers from our University Administration, industry practitioners, professional speakers and experts on DEI, and the student body alike. We partnered with other student organizations to make this promote and advertise this campus-wide event, resulting in over 80 attendees.
